USA Technical Director
Boys Director of Development

Nermin Sasivarevic was hired as the Director of Coaching in 2005 and brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the club.  One of the most qualified coaches in the region, Nermin played and coached professionally in Germany and Bosnia before coming to the U.S.  Nermin holds a USSF "A" license, USSF National Youth license and NSCAA Advanced Diploma.  Nermin is on the state coaching staff, working as the head coach for the '93 Boys ODP team and instructing the "E" and "D" license courses.

Girls Director of Development

Eric Blommer is a vast resource of soccer knowledge, partly because he has been doing this for so long, but mostly because he is the ultimate student of the game.  Owning one of the largest libraries around of soccer books and videos, Eric is passionate about continuing his soccer education and helping others do the same.  He was the US Youth National Soccer Coach of the year in 2000, the first and only coach from Utah to win that prestigious award.  Eric has coached for USA since it formed and currently coaches the Red 95 Girls.  He also holds a USSF B license and National Youth license.  

 

Staff Coaches

Ryan Mitchell has coached and trained for USA since the club was formed.  Ryan is originally from the Seattle, Washington area and was all-state and the leading scorer for his high school team.  He was a member of the Washington ODP team.  Ryan played 2 years at Brigham Young University and 2 years at Sacramento State and was the leading scorer in all 4 years.  He went on and played professionally for 4 years.  Ryan holds a USSF D license and is a graduate of the Pro Am Soccer Course in Nottingham, England.  Ryan coaches the Red 94 & 95 Boys and is also an ODP coach.

 
 
 
 
Gordon Ebner joins the USA staff in 2009 and brings a wealth of experience and accomplishments.  Gordon most recently coached with Avalanche, the top girls club in Utah.  He won 4 state cup titles as a head coach for Utah Futbol Club, and was runner-up 2 times with UFC and Hotspurs.  Gordon coached the 1999 National 3 v. 3 championships girls' team and was Girl's Asst. Coach at Taylorsville High School for 7 years.  Gordon's daughter, Stephanie, was a member of the 2002, U19 Women's world cup team team that won the FIFA World Championship in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.  Gordon has a USSF D license.

Ahmed Bakrim joined USA in 2006, after serving as technical director for a club near San Diego, CA.  Ahmed played professionally in his native Morocco, as well as Brazil, Costa Rica and Guatamala.  Ahmed holds a USSF D license.  He currently coaches the Red 96 & 98 Boys.  Ahmed speaks 4 different languages, English, Arabic, Spanish & French.

Marla Nelson began training for USA in 2008.  Marla hails from California where she was all area in High School.  She played goalkeeper for 4 years at Cal State-Fullerton, serving as team captain.  Marla has extensive coaching experience, including Club soccer in California, High School and most recently assistant coach at Lone Peak High School.  Marla was a teammate of fellow USA trainer, Tennli Toole, at CS-Fullerton.  Marla is the coach for the Red 94 & Red 98 Girls.

Eric Stephens recently joined the USA staff from the Utah County Rangers after moving to the Salt Lake area.  Eric played at Weber State University and trained with the Utah Blitzz for 2 years.  He has coached High School since 2004 and is currently the head coach at Lone Peak High School.  Eric was most recently the Director of Select teams for the Rangers and coaches the Red 00 & 97 boys with USA.  Eric has a USSF D license.
 
 
 
 
Richard O'Dea hails from London, England where he has played soccer for 26 years with various clubs.  He played 4 years for an FA team, competing in several cup finals and also trained with Irish Youth National players for 4 years.  Richard has a USSF D license and coaches the White 97 boys and Blue 99 girls.
 
 
 
 
 
Karen Wunderli has been coaching with USA since 2004.  Karen was an All-State high school performer, ODP player and won 4 state cup titles with her club team, Devastation.  She was a 4-year starter at BYU, and earned Academic All-WAC honors.  Karen Robbins-Wunderli ranks in the top 10 all-time in goals and assists.  Karen is currently the head coach for the Red 96 Girls Team.
 
 
 
 
 
Sean Angeletti has been coaching with USA since 2002.  Originally from Littleton, Colorado, he played varsity soccer at Columbine High School and was a member of a number of elite youth club teams and the Colorado ODP squad.  Recruited to Westminster College of Salt Lake City, he played four years of soccer there and earned All-Conference and Academic All-District honors.  Sean also played 5 years with the Utah Men's Select/ODP team.  He currently holds his USSF D license and coaches the Red 99 Boys team.

Dragisha Ignjatovic has been coaching for USA since 2003.  He played collegiately at BYU after moving to the US from Serbia, where he played for Galenika and Crvena Zvezda as a Central Midfielder.  He also played professional indoor soccer for the San Diego Sockers.  Dragisha coached the BYU JV team in 1987 and has been coaching youth soccer in Utah since 1998.  Dragisha holds a USSF D license and coaches High School age boys for USA.

Jose Araneda joins the USA staff in 2008, bringing with him a wealth of coaching and playing experience.  Originally from Chile, Jose played for Club Huachipato and played collegiately at INACAP, Concepcion, Chile.  He has been coaching in Utah since 1994, where he has coached U9-U16 boys and girls.  Jose has a USSF D license and continues to compete as a player in the Utah Adult League.  He coaches the Red 00 Girls and trains the Girls' Academy.

 

Trainers

Andy Williams begin training with USA in 2007.   Andy grew up in Jamaica, where he represented his country 82 times in international competition, including the 1998 World Cup in France, where he played against Croatia as a 20 year old.  Andy was an All-American at Rhode Island where he was the school's all-time leading scorer with 52 goals and 45 assists.  He was also honored as one of the top 11 collegiate players of the decade by Soccer America, for the 1990's.  Andy is currently in his 4th year with Real Salt Lake. He is known for his great balls skills and his ability to shoot from distance.

Jeff Cassar is the USA goalkeeper trainer.  He began working with USA in 2007 and brings an impressive background.  Jeff is currently an Assistant Coach with Real Salt Lake, coaching the goalkeepers.  He played 10 years in MLS and also had a brief stint with Bolton of the English Premier League.  Jeff played in the 1995 U-20 World Cup and the 1996 Olympics.  Was the #8 overall pick in the 1996 MLS Draft.

Born in Germany, Mark Osborne has been coaching with USA since the club was formed in 2001.  Mark grew up playing in Utah Youth Soccer and at Bingham High School, where they were region champs in 1992 & 1993.  He was recently an assistant coach at Bingham High School.  Mark holds a USSF D license.

Brian Johnson (B.J.) has been training USA players since 2005.  B.J. is currently an assistant coach with Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer.  B.J. grew up playing with various Youth National Teams.  He was an All-American at Fresno State then played 5 years for the Kansas City Wizards of Major League Soccer, winning an MLS Cup in 2000.  B.J. holds a USSF A license.

Becca Petersen started training for USA in 2007 after completing her senior year at Utah Valley State.  Becca was an all-state player at Timpview High School then went on to play at Dixie State for 2 years, where she was an All-American and won a National Championship.  Becca finished her college career as the team MVP for Utah Valley State.

Tennli Toole started training with USA in 2008.  The former Tennli Ulicny, hails from California where she prepped at Brea Olinda High School.  Tennli was a 4-year starter at Cal State-Fullerton, where she led the team to the Big West title as a Senior.  She was a 3 year All-Big West selection and finished her career at CS-Fullerton in the top 5 all-time for goals scored, assists, game winning goals and total points.  She also played professional for 2 years in the W-league.  Tennli's coaching experience includes, graduate assistant at CS-Fullerton, High School Girls and many Club teams in CA.
