Every year all of the student groups across UNM participate in Spring Storm.

Spring Storm is a Community experinace in which students, staff, and Faculty from UNM participate in a large one-day sericee project.

This year SWE helped endorphin power company by digging holes that in which concrete will be poured to form the foundation for a pivioting rock climbing wall/ stage.

Below is a slide show of us working on this project.

As stated on their webpage, "The Endorphin Power Company is dedicated to improving the lives of people, with special focus on the substance-dependent and homeless, thus alleviating many of the challenges faced by current emergency medical systems. Additional purposes are the promotion of mental and physical health through exercise, and the promotion of energy consciousness and volunteerism."

You can learn a bit more about Endorphin Power Company by reading this article here.

or by watching the video below.

Endorphin Power Company is always looking for volunteers. If you are interesented in volunteering, please visit their site below.

We need both men and women for our team! You don't have to be an expert or be in SWE to play on our team, just bring a positive attitude and a willingness to try! (Work out clothes and the right shoes help too though!). Even if you can only play one game then come join us! It's always a lot of fun!

If you would like to play you need to do 2 things:
1. Email sweunm@unm.edu your name, phone number, and what games you can play.
2. Sign the roster for our team. Ask for the roster at the desk just to the left after you go in the main entrance of Johnson Center (before you swipe your card). Our team name is SWE and we play in the Monday/Wednesday league. You can sign the roster right before the game but you MUST have signed up before they let you play.

Geek chick 2.0

posted ‎‎Apr 16, 2008 6:15 PM‎‎ by Andrew Young   [ updated ‎‎Apr 16, 2008 6:34 PM‎‎ ]

The Society of Women Engineers is hosting the second annual Geek Chic Auction Fundraiser in the SUB Atrium on Friday, April 25th! This is a great event where you can meet lots of people and just have fun! Your fellow classmates will auction themselves off to help SWE! What do you get if you ‘buy’ an auctionee?? Two things!

-A ticket to a delicious group dinner [Yummy Italian food!!!] with the auctionee, in the ME atrium.
-A great feeling for making a donation to your local SWE-UNM section!

We work really hard to make this a fun friendly environment where no one feels unconformable. You don't want to miss this event! All the 'buyers' and auctionees are invited to a special VIP dinner where there will be food and music. We still need volunteers both to auction themselves and to help out. So come embrace your inner geek for an evening and help out SWE at the same time! Bring your friends! Anyone is welcome to come to this event; you should come check it out even if you don't plan on buying!

If you are interesting in auctioning yourself, please fill out the attached form and send it to SWEUNM@unm.edu

If you are interested in volunteering for the event, please let us know by sending an email to SWEUNM@unm.edu
