How to get to Storrs

 

By Car:

From the West (heading through or from Hartford, Bradley International Airport): Take Interstate 84 East to Exit 68. From exit, take a right onto Route 195, 7 miles to UConn.

From the East (heading from Boston toward Hartford, From Logan International Airport): Take Interstate 84 West to Exit 68. From exit, take a left onto Route 195, and follow directions above.

From the Southeast Interstate 95 to 395 North. Take Exit 81 West to Route 32 North. Follow Route 32 North to Willimantic. In town, turn right and go over bridge. Continue straight through the light and follow 195 North for 8 miles to campus.


By Train:


New Haven Station, CT is a 1.5 hour journey on the Metro North (www.mta.info/mnr/) line from Grand Central station at 42nd and Park Ave. in NYC. Taxis are readily available at the station. The taxi journey from New Haven to Storrs takes one hour. Hartford Stn., CT runs Amtrak trains to and from the Penn Stn. NYC (www.amtrak.com). Taxis are readily available at the station. The taxi journey from Hartford to Storrs takes approximately 30 minutes. Very early morning trains from NYC are available for those who wish to arrive on campus on Saturday.
 

By Bus:


The Peter Pan busline travels directly between Port Authority in NYC, and the Co-op building at the Storrs campus (peterpanbus.com – campus is listed as “UConnStorrs”). This is the cheapest travel option and runs seven days a week.

 

By Air:


Bradley International Airport, close to Hartford, is the nearest airport for domestic flights. JFK (New York) and Logan (Boston) are the closest major international airports. Storrs is 2.5 hours from New York City and 1.5 hours from Boston by car.


Accommodation


The Nathan Hale Inn (www.nathanhaleinn.com) is located on campus within walking distance of all festival events. Please reserve your room online or at + (860) 427-7888 ASAP as room availability at the NHI is limited during April. Food


The ground-floor Student Union food court houses ten restaurants, including American, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, fast-food, and café options. Bookworms Café, located across the plaza from the Thomas J. Dodd Center, offers grab-and-go snacks and coffees. Weather permitting, there are several good restaurants (Thai, Japanese, Lebanese, pizza and Starbucks Coffee) just off campus and within a short walk of the festival events. Parking


Parking restrictions are in place Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you need to park your car during those hours, please use the North or South Parking Garages. On the weekend, parking is available anywhere on campus free of charge.
 
 

Weather
