The ISA, in collaboration with the Departments of English and Modern & Classical Languages, is pleased to present Reel Ireland 2008. The program is curated by Irish Film Archive of the Irish Film Institute (IFI) and gives international audiences the opportunity to access the best of Irish film. This touring package comprises feature, documentary and short films and is a response by the Irish Film Archive to increased international awareness of and demand for Irish cinema. Reel Ireland is funded by Culture Ireland. For further information please visit http://www.cultureireland.gov.ie or http://www.reelireland.ie.

This year's festival will feature a variety of films from Ireland including the Oscar-award winning Once. Additionally, the weekend events include several featured guest speakers such as authors James Ryan and Martin Roper, Assoc. Director of the Huston School of Film Tony Tracy and Irish Times journalist Caroline Walsh among others. On Saturday, April 5, there will also be a day long film and literature seminar with a focus on the transnational arts.
