Welcome to the Astrobiology Research Focus Group

We have 38 confirmed participants! NAI has once again increased the funding in order for all of us to be provided with free transportation, lodging, meal services and conference facility use. We are extremely pleased with all financial and logistic support provided by NAI!

We have to thank you all for your prompt responses in confirming your presence. We had 27 people volunteering for camping, more than non-volunteers! As you know the camping possibility is not financially related, but is instead a logistic issue. Pack Forest may not have cabins for all of us. But they have guaranteed lodging for at least 24 people, most likely 40. So, there is a good chance that very few or none of us will have to camp. We will only know the exact lodging situation by the beginning of July and we will report it as soon as we are informed.

Core Fields

Physics – 9

Chemistry – 3

Geology – 5

Biology - 21

The core fields are rough approximations from what you have told us, although they are not highly informative given that most of us cannot be placed into a single core field.
