After learning about the electoral process, students researched some of
the issues surrounding this historic election. Listen to the student
sound bytes (listed at the bottom of this page) to hear what students
are saying about the 2008 presidential candidates.
Note that students were assigned to candidates and issues. So even
though they argue persuasively, they may not be sharing their true
political opinions. Although students may not agree with their assigned
candidate’s position on an issue, learning to defend an argument is an
important life skill!
