Every goal you set out to accomplish always has a series of steps to get to your desired end result. There are often times things you need to first consider before you even set out to tackle your goals, and striving for personal health and wellness is no different. I hope that these next few points mentioned will give you the motivation and energy needed to see your goal to the end.
Admitting Change
The first step in the road to improving your personal health and wellness is to admit to yourself that you need to change your lifestyle. This belief is essential because if you do not believe that you need to change, then you have no purpose, or reason to do so. And, thus, you will just be like one of those people that make shallow New Year's resolutions, but never see it to fruition.
If you know there is something missing in your life, or if you feel that your life can be lived better, then make the claim! Do not beat-around-the-bush! Confront this truth and tackle it with systematic and logical steps to improve your well-being.
You Must Believe Your Life Is Important
The next step would be to change the way you view yourself. I started off this site with a quote from the Bible located in 1Corinthians 6:19. It states:
"Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?"
Despite what you might hear from a secular humanist, your life is not meaningless, or random. We are not some big, cosmic accident, or mistake. You are a beautiful creation of God
"fearfully and wonderfully made!"
"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." - Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
What does this mean for you? That means that your life has extraordinary value, and your life has an explicit purpose!
When you come to this realization, it is much easier to move forward, and set goals for yourself.
Is Your Body Worth The Time and Effort?
The final step before you start your journey to better your life is that you need to answer the question above in bold. Do you feel that your body is worth the time and effort it will take to improve your personal health and wellness?
Because, like I mentioned above, if you do not feel that it is worth improving your health and wellness, then you are setting yourself up for disappointment and failure! Stand-up for yourself now, and make an impact on your personal well-being by understanding that the road may not be easy, there may be set-backs, but the end result (an enjoyable, fulfilling life) is well worth it!
