- To turn the instrument on press either the MODE or PROGR keys.
- Using the MODE and PROGR keys select the
appropriate measurement ‘Program’. The program stored in the particular
location is listed in the display. The measurements the program
actually makes are listed in the table below. You need to check these
and select the particular program you require. A more complete
explanation of each program is listed in the manual. (section 6.3.1)
- Point the instrument appropriately and press the MEAS button the appropriate number of times for the particular measurement.
- The result will be displayed in the eye piece.
- There are 18 different measurement types available (Section 6.3.1 of the manual)

- If the program you need is NOT in a memory location.
- Ensure the instrument is OFF
- Hold the MEMORY key
- Press the MODE key
- Press the MEMORY key until the display shows the current ‘MODE and PROGR’ together with the program installed in that location i.e. A1–01
- Press the MODE and PROGR keys to select the appropriate memory location you want to use
- Press the MEMORY + and MEMORY – to select the
program number you want to access from that location. i.e. A1 13 will
give you the ‘azimut’ program in the A1 location. The default for A1 is
‘direct D’ measurement program 01.
- Press Off then Mode again to restart the instrument
