Timber Lakes Elementary is pleased to announce that we are adopting a suggested school uniform dress code. Some benefits of school uniforms are:

Monday-Thursday (Suggested Uniform Days).
Suggested shirt attire: Black, White, Dark Purple, & Gray collared polo shirts (plain jane, no embroidery necessary) Does NOT need to be tucked in, but preferable. Cold Weather: Any color/style outerwear is acceptable (jackets/coats). White long sleeved under-shirt allowed instead of jacket/coat. Sweatshirt needs to be with collared school color shirt. Suggested bottom attire: Tan (Khaki), Navy Blue, & Black pants, shorts, skirts or skorts Allowed: Cargo, Capris
Friday (Casual / Spirit Days) – School colors PREFERABLE.
Suggested attire: Timber Lakes purple Spirit shirts OR
Non-collared shirts in school colors (gray, black, white, purple) OR
Timber Lakes lavender V-neck shirt
Uniforms are OK on Fridays.
Jeans are OK.
All students must follow OCPS dress code.

Please be sure to use our school source code QS5GHFZ, so that our school can earn a 5% rebate from their “Dollars in Uniform” program. Polos in white, purple, and black for $8.98. Many local stores carry polo shirts and uniform bottoms at varying prices and styles. The following is a list of some stores that carry polo shirts and uniform bottoms. Prices, selection, size and availability by season may vary by store and can change without notice.

Frequently asked Questions
Q. Do the polo shirts have to be embroidered or have the school logo?
A. No, any solid color polo shirt in gray, white, black, or purple is acceptable. Embroidered or logo polo shirts, hooded jackets, or spirit shirts may be purchased from the Timber Lakes PTA.
Q. Does my child have to wear a uniform on picture day?
A. No, on picture day, students may wear whatever they would like as long as it meets OCPS dress code requirements.
Q. What is the uniform policy for cold weather days?
A. Any outerwear jacket is acceptable for outside. Once inside the classroom, sweatshirts or pullovers in the school colors are encouraged. Students may wear long sleeve polo shirts in the school colors, or a long sleeve white shirt underneath their school uniform polo shirt.
Q. Is my child required to wear a school uniform?
A. No, since Timber Lakes Elementary is a public school, we cannot mandate any student to wear a uniform. However, due to the many benefits of school uniforms, uniforms are strongly encouraged. Any parent who does not wish for their child to participate in school uniforms may fill out and turn in an “opt out of uniforms” form in the front office.
Q. Where can I purchase the school uniform?
A. You may purchase your child’s uniform wherever you would like (See Availablility and Pricing). The clothing does not have to be specific “uniform” clothing. Any polo shirt and bottoms meeting the specifications of our uniform policy is acceptable.
