The Seattle Times Company is a 111-year-old locally owned, private and independent news and information company. Founded in 1896 by Alden J. Blethen, The Seattle Times Company is a fourth- and fifth-generation family business.

The flagship newspaper, The Seattle Times, is the largest daily newspaper in Washington state and the largest Sunday newspaper in the Northwest. The Seattle Times Company owns seven affiliate newspapers in Washington state and Maine; a network of comprehensive online news, information and advertising Web sites; and printing and distribution subsidiaries. Under a joint operating agreement The Seattle Times Company also manages advertising, production, circulation and marketing for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, a separately owned newspaper.
