Meet the band


 

Bill Vaughan has been a playing piano and singing professionally since 1965, having toured the United States in a variety of musical ensembles.  He has performed music in a wide range of styles, including Country, Jazz, Classical, and Rock and has recorded over 30 original songs.

 

 

 

 

Andrew Ratliff has been involved in musical performances since the early 70s, when as a child growing up in Japan, was a contestant on a popular national TV show, much like American Idol.  Andrew has played in a number of DC-based bands such as Bad Hair Day, Step Back, Fright Wig, True Confessors, the Gadflies, First Light, Fuzzy Logic, Plastic Sky and Columbia Baptist's Praise Band.  He has opened for international acts such as Asia and the Tubes.  Andrew has contributed material to several tribute CDs and compilations, including ones honoring the Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Badfinger ( http://www.amazon.com/Remembering-Badfinger-Various-Artists/dp/B000068COG/).

 

 

Matt Aufofer Has been playing music since highschool. He plays several musical instruments, but concentrates his efforts on bass and vocals while with The Mockingbirds. Matt has played with many local bands over the years and the band feels lucky to have him.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Scott Castonguay has been invovled in music since childhood. He started on trumpet and  moved to saxaphone, then switched to guitar at the age of 13. Scott has been playing over twenty years professionally in and around the Washington D.C. area.  He studied jazz and classical guitar in college while at the same time playing in local rock/blues/ and R&B bands. He has played with artists such as Ketter Betts, Pat Upton, Nap "dont for get the blues" Tuner, and Al Wilson. Scott continues to work as a freelance musician; is a member of two working bands; and applies his years of experience and study to helping others learn to play the guitar.
