In the United States, drowning is the seveth leading cause of unintentional injury deaths for all ages and the second leading cause of all injury deaths each year for children 1 to 14 years old. For every child who dies from drowning, another four received emergency department care for non fatal submersions injuries. (Center for disease control, 2008)
 
Swim Venture Provides American Red Cross lifeguard training and water safety courses by highly trained experianced, and certified American Red Cross instructors. Quality, consistancy, and accountablity drive our passion for water safety education and training. We look forward to meeting your safety needs!
 
Requirments:
1.Be at least 15 years of age by the time the course is compleated
2.Attend all training sessions
3.Successfully complete a pre-course screening session which includes the following:
  • Swim 300 yards continuously, using these strokes: 100 yards of front crawl using rhythmic breathing and a stabilizing propellant kick
  • 100 yards breaststroke
  • 100 yards of either front crawl using rhythmic breathing, or breaststroke or a combination of both
  • Swim 20 yards (front crawl or breast stroke), surface dive to a depth of 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, and return with it to the surface, and swim back 20 yards. This is a timed event.

4.Perform all skills with 100% accurancy

5.Pass a written test with at least an 80%
