Around 18:00-18:30, 3/8/2008, Beijing GMT +8:00, Google is blocked by China for about half an hour. It may not be a blocking, but anyway, Google's name server is unavailable for a short period of time. Maybe it's Google's own problem, but in the same time iTunes is not available in China, either. Thus It seems it has something to do with Chinese GFW (Great Firewall). ~$ ping www.google.com ping: cannot resolve www.google.com: Unknown host ~$ ping www.baidu.com PING www.a.shifen.com (202.108.22.43): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 202.108.22.43: icmp_seq=0 ttl=55 time=61.089 ms ^C --- www.a.shifen.com ping statistics --- 1 packets transmitted, 1 packets received, 0% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 61.089/61.089/61.089/0.000 ms ~$ ping www.google.com ^C ~$ Fuck GFW.
