The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, through its Commission on Elementary and Middle Schools and the Commission on International and Trans-regional Accreditation, have awarded accreditation to Summit-Questa Montessori School since the year 2002.
Accreditation is based upon an evaluation of each school to determine if the needs of the students and community as well as the standards of the Commission on Elementary and Middle Schools are being met. The evaluation process includes a self-study by each school's faculty and a review by an outside team of trained professional peers representing the Association.
The Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA) accredits more than 30,000 public and private educational institutions in 100 countries. Some of the many benefits of CITA’s accreditation include validation of the equivalency of diplomas and certificates to other accredited schools and universities; international recognition of school/center, verification of quality for parents, educators, businesses and governments; self-study, and on-site evaluation, expand schooling and learning opportunities for students by being part of a worldwide network of quality schools. AISF, Association of Independent Schools of Florida, schools serve more than 25,000 students in various programs: traditional and Montessori. The main goal is to maintain high academic standards unhampered by political considerations. AISF is recognized by the Florida Association of Academic Nonpublic Schools as an accrediting agency for private schools in Florida.

The purpose of acquiring private, regional and international accreditations is school improvement, which focuses on student performance. To maintain accreditation, each accredited school must conduct a continuing program of improvement, meet standards of accreditation, improve student performance, submit annual reports which certify the completion of plans for educational improvement as well as assessment of the schools' ability to meet standards, and be reevaluated by outside teams of professional educators at five year intervals.
Accredited schools are a "plus" for the community and for those who are interested in relocating their families and businesses in Davie and the surrounding area.
In addition, Summit-Questa has been affiliated with AMS (American Montessori Society) since 1991. For further information on AMS, click on the link http://www.amshq.org |
