Here you can enjoy a pint of real ale in front of a roaring log fire or strike out into the landscape, a photographer's dream, to seek our stags, munroes and a huge variety of wildlife and birds of prey. Location; Strathcarron hotel lies just over 60 miles west of Inverness. A stones throw from the door is the little Strathcarron railway station that lies on the Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh line. From the hotel you can see many a mountain and also across to the village of Lochcarron. Accommodation: The hotel has 9 en-suite letting bedrooms, all with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. There is 1 family room, 3 double rooms, 4 twin rooms and 1 single room. All have television and tea and coffee making facilities. Food and drink; Food can be eaten in the cosy bar or in our dining room. Wherever you eat you can be sure that the food will be good and made from fresh ingredients on the premises by our chef, using local produce, where possible, and free range eggs. We also have a coffee shop with fresh ground coffee from sustainable growers, fruit teas, teas and home baking always available. Here you can relax and enjoy the views of the mountains while sampling some of the goodies created by our baker, Alison. The hotel has a cosy bar with log fire and a selection of malt whiskies, real ales, beer wines and spirits. A friendly atmosphere prevails and a highland welcome extended to all. Entertainment: We have regular live music events, see bottom of page for mare details of things to come and what has been! There is also a pool room with juke box. Things to do: There are many things to do in the local area such as walking and climbing, diving, sailing and other water sports; and due to our location we make an ideal base for exploring the western highlands and the Isle of Skye (30 minutes takes you to the bridge by car and the toll has been removed!) (Martin walked into Lochcarron in full pirate gear the next day to raise money for marie curie; £215 at the last count ..... well done:-) Hookares live at the strath on pirate night, 29th of Feb.2008!
