This Friday, May 2nd, the 6th and 7th grades are going on a field trip to Dauphin Island! This is an all day trip which allows students to study the Mobile Bay estuary. The students will get to see the sea life up close and personal as they explore the marsh near the estuarium. The sea lab also houses an estuarium, which is the equivalent of an aquarium that showcases the life found in the Mobile Bay estuary. For further information, the link to the Dauphin Island Sea Lab is provided below.
Remember to bring an extra pair of athletic shoes that can get muddy and possibly be thrown away. The marsh is a little messy, but sometimes science is dirty! Please also bring a change of clothes according to the following information:
7th: Wear PE clothes to school. You will wear PE clothes to the Sea Lab, use the PE clothes in the marsh, and then change into our SPCS service shirts and jeans/ PE shorts for the afternoon in the estuarium.
6th: Wear service shirts and jeans/ PE shorts to school. The 6th grade will visit the estuarium in the morning and then change clothes after lunch (to PE shorts and PE shirt) for the marsh trip.
Thanks so much to everyone who is helping make this trip possible, including our wonderful parents of the 6th and 7th grades! Without a doubt, your help makes field trips work. |
