6th grade students will be writing weekly as part of the Langauge Arts curriculum this year. Writing will consist of Pre-writing (4-square and zero draft), Rough Draft, and Polished copy. We will be focusing on the 6 traits of writing: Ideas and Content, Organization, Voice, Word Choice, Sentence Fluency, and Conventions. While I will grade entire papers weekly, on occasion I will focus on one of the six traits.
1st Quarter writing is primarily Narrative in nature. We will also touch on Descriptive and Expository as the year progresses.
