Every week a student has a turn to be “God’s Special Child.” Please help your child fill a poster board (provided by me) with pictures of family, friends, activities he enjoys, etc. Please allow your child to assist you as much as possible on the construction of the poster. At the beginning of the year, your child may need a lot of assistance. As the year progresses, the children should be able to do much of the printing on the poster. These posters give each child a chance to share things about themselves with the class and it helps make the child feel special. Please bring your pictures on the first day of your special week. Also, please help your child fill in the special sheet that will be coming home so we can know more about him. Your child may bring in a favorite story for Mrs. Klaege to read to the class. The special person of the week will also bring Cinnamon (or class bear) home with him on Friday, along with the poster board. During your child's special week, your child will share their poster and their weekend with Cinnamon. Your child will be my special assistant that week too. During your child's special week, a parent, grandparent, or significant adult may arrange to visit the classroom and read a story to the class. Your child may also bring a special snack to share. This should take 15 - 20 minutes. This is my way of giving the children an opportunity to share their uniqueness/differences, while giving each child special recognition. Thank you. ![]()
