LINCOLN COUNTY, MO (July 1, 2009) — United Way of Greater St. Louis awarded five one-time Community Enhancement Grants, totaling $5,000, to non-profit agencies and organizations to help meet basic needs in Lincoln County.

Lincoln County Medical Center, Lincoln/Pike Counties Drug Court Foundation, North East Community Action Corporation, Saint Louis Crisis Nursery, and Sts. Joachim & Ann Care Service were each awarded $1,000 grants.

“These grants for Lincoln County agencies enable United Way to partner with even more community nonprofits to build a stronger, healthier region,” said Mike Miller, chair of the Community Enhancements Grant panel. “We’re pleased to offer necessary funding to these organizations that will go toward improving their programs and increasing resources.”

The one-time grants were presented to both United Way-member and nonmember organizations and programs. Funding was carefully determined by volunteers who live in Lincoln County.
