People and organisations supporting our school
Over the course of the last year we have worked with a number of supporters and funders to deliver a range of projects at the school. Some of the highlights have been:
Bicycle, Bicycle …. I want to ride my bicycle Thanks to a range of supporters including Devon County Council and axolotl projects we now have safe storage space for 36 bikes. Our new cycle shed is a much welcome edition and is being well used by the whole community.
New Hall Gets Blackout Blinds Thanks to some very kind donors we have managed to secure the funds for blackout blinds for our New Hall.
Harvest Hedgerow As part of National Tree Planting Week over 60 children, parents and friends of the School planted 600 trees. The trees were purchased through funds donated by The Naturesave Trust and have helped us in the renovation of the hedges around the school and the creation of a future ‘harvest hedgerow'.
Trees such as hazel, rowan, elder, hawthorn, crab apple, dog rose and blackthorn were planted. These species were chosen so as to re-establish the native hedgerow, to support the natural biodiversity and to provide an educational resource. Once established the trees will produce edible crops which will be used as part of the young people’s education.
