Each day there are
approximately 118,000 day laborers looking for work. All across the United
States, in residential towns and big cities alike, day workers, specifically
those who have recently immigrated to the United States congregate on street
corners. And while government policy makers struggle to formulate bills to
legislate these workers, worker centers are popping up throughout the nation to
help deal with the influx of migrant workers.

I wanted to create this page because too often people only
see day workers as they pass by in their cars, but never fully understand their
struggles. Rather than resorting to lengthy government measures and faulty
policy, communities should take
action themselves to form healthy relationships with day workers.
