Newcastle Meeting House

This Meeting House is open to all who wish to meet and worship

  • with an open mind

  • in a spirit of freedom, reason and tolerance.

We may not all hold the same beliefs.

Rather, each person is encouraged to follow his or her own spiritual path.  We have each chosen to make this part of our journey in the company of the members of this Meeting House.

We are a supportive and caring spiritual community that seeks to provide a comfortable environment to enable us all to explore our spirituality and make connections with the lives of others.

We are based in Newcastle-under-Lyme at the only Unitarian Meeting House in Staffordshire which is located on
Lower Street in Newcastle-under-Lyme.  It does not have a postcode because there is no post-box but it is situated on the by-pass just South of the roundabout below Newcastle-under-Lyme College.

Our congregation has about 30 members who range in age from young children to ninety year olds.

We meet every fortnight for morning services on the second and fourth Sundays of the month; We usually have only one August service, an evening one - although this year we slipped in an extra one to meet up with friends from Glasgow.  I
n December service dates may change depending on when the Christmas holiday falls.  This year we have services on the first and third Sundays.  Please see the calendar.

We have a guided walk every third weekend (sometimes Saturday and sometimes Sunday) which is led by congregation members.  We have had walks through Hanchurch Woods, Dimingsdale, Trentham Gardens, round Rudyard Lake and through Leycett Country Park.  Our October walk will be in Consall - starting at 10.15 a.m.

We sell Fair Trade goods after Sunday services during our social time together.  Once a month we have a shared meal after the service, this is when our minister, Rev Michael Dadson, leads the service.

Our members are active in a range of social action including supporting children who are slow learners, being on the Board of local charities, being an active member of the Ramblers Association and providing financial support to various charities.

We have monthly e-newsletter which you can see in PDF format here.
