A United Church of Christ Congregation
South Congregational Church has a strong history of teaching about the love of God, the values of Christianity, and the power of Jesus' teachings in our lives.
We invite you to take part!  Attend church school, youth group, confirmation class, adult Bible studies or one of our special events.
Offer your services!  Join the Board of Christian Education.  Volunteer to teach the children or to lead an adult education group.  Help in the kitchen during the many events we offer throughout the year.

Church School

Our children are the present and the future of our church and of our world.  We view them as an integral part of our Christian ministry.  We are committed to providing children with a warm, safe and inclusive environment, where they will feel loved and respected.

We encourage and welcome parental support and involvement.  Come share a day with your child in church school.  Come see what they are learning about and talk to their teachers.  Read More ...

Confirmation

A Confirmation program is available to youth in Grades 9 and above.  The program includes experiential learning and reflection with the Pastor as well as mentoring by members of the congregation.  Confirmation begins in the fall and continues through the late spring.  Students meet regularly with the Pastor, and time spent with the mentors is arranged to suit the students' and mentors' schedules.  At the end of the confirmation process, students will have an opportunity to decide, in consultation with their parents, whether or not they wish to be confirmed and join the church.  For more detailed information, please see the Pastor.

Youth Group

We offer a Junior Youth Group for Grades 6-8 and a Senior Youth Group for Grades 9-12.  Each group meets 1-2 times a month for fellowship, service/mission and faith development.  The two groups combine for some activities.  Please see the monthly newsletter and weekly bulletins for the latest happenings.

Mission and Outreach

Children's offering is collected weekly and the children choose various charities as recipients of their gifts throughout the year.  The church school also participates in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF and a Thanksgiving food collection.  There are also occasions for other intentional, active service.
