Squad

The Spartacus 7s squad is an invitational club of honoured members. Everyone below has worn the famous stash in competition and thus contributed to the legacy.

Paul Kelly                                                                     The oversee'er. Pinky has a devastating turn of pace and with his improving fitness levels, is set to torch international defences this season.

Position: Center/Wing

Joey Garcia

Vice-captain. Joey combines awesome levels of strength, weight and speed to run over his opponents. Almost unstoppable from short distances, Joey's acceleration and leadership qualities on the field are invaluable to Spartacus 7s.

Position: Hooker/Centre

Dipo Alli

The Shadow. Dipo is, yes you've guessed it, a gas man. More in the Wendell Sailor mould than Breyton Paulse, Dipo has added a new physical dimension to his game and is now an accomplished practitioner of the infamous "Fijian side-step."

Position: Wing

John A. Bassadone

Weapon is a powerful player with years of experience to shoulder the younger players around him. Not afraid of hard graft, Weapon brings grit, leadership and imposing presence to the side as well as acute decision making.

Position: Prop Forward

Ben Bridger

Bridger is a powerhouse of a man with a striking facial resemblance to David Coulthard. He regrettably doesn't share quite the same wheels as the F1 supremo but he has nonetheless developed into an astute sevens player with strong defensive credentials and mobility.

Position: Prop Forward

Toby Dodd

Grandodd is another player who compensates for lack of pace with seething aggression and unfaltering commitment. He also plays a very important role is gaining a psychological edge over opponents. His pre-match banter can very often "bore" opposition teams into a state of poor concentration and even depression.

Position: Prop Forward

Diarmuid Kelly

A player with a professional past until injury ended his career, Diarmuid may have lost a yard of pace but he has added bulk and strength to his repertoire. Like Jonny Wilkinson, his long and forced absence from rugby has allowed him to study every aspect of the game with help of cable tv, and a powerful internet connection in his bedroom. He is now not only an improved player with plenty of years left on his shelf-life, but one of the sports leading brains.

Postion: Fly-Half/Centre

Charles Lamb

The Lambinator is a player of extraordinary ability and represents the engine room of Spartacus 7s. At every breakdown, lightning quick around the fringes and always in support, these and Charlie's abilities as a distributor and communicator are essential to maintaining Spartacus 7s trophy habit.

Position: Scrum-Half

Daniel Mourad

Mourad is a committed player who thrives at the breakdown slowing down and stealing opposition ball. Whilst his "political" sympathies have garned much scrutiny over recent years, Spartacus 7s operate under a "See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" policy, and so his status is unaffected until proven guilty by the appropriate authorities.

Postion: Hooker/Prop Forward

Matt Pardo

"Focker" tragically missed the 'Slavery 2 Bravery' NYC tour last year through savage injury. He did however, score the try of the tournament at Marbella 6 months prior, and so expectations are already sky-high for the rocket-fuelled youngster this year.

Postion: Fly-half/Centre

Rupert Seldon

Rupert's quiet demeanour masks devastating ability on the pitch. A consummate athlete, 'Slavery 2 Bravery' 2006 MVP, and full-scale prodigy in his youth; Rupert can still summon powers that on his day, make him head and shoulders above everyone else on the pitch. Still comfortably the right side of 30, if Rupes decides to apply himself in 2007, it will be very good news for Spartacus 7s and very bad news for just about everyone else.

Position: Fly-half/Centre

Anthony Walker

Walks made his debut for Spartacus 7s at 'Slavery 2 Bravery' NYC 2006. After a difficult few games, Tony grew into a confident and attack-hungry sevens professional. A hugely important member of team he is set to make an even bigger impact in 2007 with more assured displays on the horizon.

Position: Wing
