Welcome to SSCC's Writing Center website

In our Writing Center, students and writing assistants work together for a common goal: To guide you to write well independently.

We maintain a library of helpful books for student/faculty checkout; a collection of grammar and writing software; one-on-one tutoring with a writing assistant; helpful handouts, and access to personal computers and a laser printer.

Students, staff, and faculty should feel free to come by any time we are open for assistance with writing needs in any course of study, for informational material about many different sorts of writing, and for help with applications for jobs, scholarships, and university entrance.

In addition, this website itself offers immediate help in several ways. For example, you will find links to important Online Writing Labs (OWLs) that offer valuable information not only about grammar and punctuation, but about format and technique for essentially every mode of writing, from business and technical to literary criticism and ESL.

See links on the right to helpful handouts. These and other handouts are also available in the Writing Center.

We look forward to seeing you.
