Curriculum Map

2009-2010

GRADE: Third

SUBJECT: Science

TEACHER: Nicole Jahan

*Strands 1, 2, 3 of AZ State Standards are to be taught and embedded into Strands 4, 5, and 6.

We will spend the first two weeks of school learning about the inquiry process and modeling the

Scientific Method.  This will then be applied to each lab report that the students conduct throughout the school year.

Strands 2 and 3 also will be applied to each unit that we study. In addition,

the students will be required to make a science experiment for the Science Fair.  The students will begin their Science Fair projects before Winter Break.  Most experimentation will take place over the break.  The final project will be due the beginning of February.
