Welcome to our new school.  It is exciting to be working with our great team of administrators, teachers and parents. I have high hopes for a successful year!

 

I am a specialist in learning strategies for children who exhibit a need to have accomodations in the classroom or special instruction to achieve their potential.  I will be finding out which children already have come to our school with a formal individual education or accomodation plan.  I will be contacting those parents by phone and setting up meetings if necessary.

 

It is our educational model to include students with learning problems in the regular classroom curriculum to access content for each subject.  A teacher referral process is used when a student is not achieving as expected over time.  A multidisciplinary team which includes teachers and the student's parents come together to discuss the student's needs. An educational action plan is created and put to work to assist the student's learning needs. 

 

I'm looking forward to developing an exceptional student service program that will meet the diverse needs of our student population.  I will keep you informed as we grow as a school community.
