Our club is all about creating delicious fun for our members. Food is an important part of our everyday life and this club offers a great way for kids to get involved in the kitchen and learn basic skills that will last (hopefully ;) for a lifetime.
Sonoran Science Academy - Broadway's International Cooking Club focuses on making cooking a fun and a delightful way for kids to learn and explore new cultures!
One of my goals is to inspire students to enjoy more of their own home cooked food and experience the benefits that comes with it!

Our first Yummy! 09/04/08
Ossetian Pie
Mix
1/2 cup of water
1 ts of yeast
1/2 ts of sugar
let it stay for 15 min
Then mix 2 cups of water
1 ts of salt and the first mix to this one.
Put enough flour to have a soft dough.
Let it stay for 2 more hours.
Filling:
mix 4 mashed potatoes with
mozerella, cheddar cheeses (You can have different fillings, depending on your preference)
After the dough rises
follow the steps as described in the picture:
Our Ossetian Pie!!!EGGPLANT SALADIngredients:
1 to 2 egg plants (depending for how many people you are cooking)
2 tomatoes
1/4 clove of garlic
7 branches of parsley
Put little oil on a frying pan (make sure you don't put a lot of oil, it will make your salad oily)
Cut the egg plants into round shapes and fry them in the frying pan until they are gold brown.
After you have all the cut egg plants fried cut the tomatoes in the same shape. Put one round tomato underneath
the egg plant the other one on top, put a little bit of salt.
Chop the garlic and the parsley into small pieces and mix them together. About one teaspoon of the garlic and parsley mixture
goes on top of the tomato and eggplant salad.
It is very easy to cook and looks very good on the holiday tables.
Russian/ English crepes
Ingredients:
1/2 litter of milk
3 eggs
1/2 tea spoon of salt
1/2 tea spoon of baking soda
1/2 smaller cup of oil
1 1/2 cup of flour
Mix all the above ingredients together into a watery mixture and fry one scoop at a time, distributing the mixture evenly around the pan into thin
crepes.
RAISIN CAKE
Ingredients:
3 eggs
1 of the 4 oz butter sticks
1/2 cup of plain yogurt
1 cup of sugar
1 vanilla
1 cup of flour
3 spoons of raisins
3 spoons of walnuts
Mix all the ingredients together into a mixture and bake it in 350 degrees for 25 min until it is gold brown.
MS.ADIBA'S SALAD
Ingredients:
1 small size cucumber
2 tomatoes
5 oz of cheddar cheese
10 branches of parsley
mayo according to your taste
Cut the cucumber, tomatoes, and the cheddar cheese into mid size squares and mix them together. Chop the parsley and add it into the other ingredients
season with mayo according to your preference.
FETTUCCINE ALFREDO
Cook noodles and keep them hot, add the Fettuccine Alfredo bertolli sauce and mix them together. Put the mixture into the baking pan, add shredded cheddar cheese
and Parmesan cheese on top of the noodle mixture. Broil for about 10 min until the cheese melts, mix it together and serve with a little bit parsley for decoration.
CLASSIC SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS
Ingredients:
1 lb of ground beef
1 close garlic, minced
3 tbsp. onion, minced
1/4 c. milk
1 1/2 c. Italian bread crumbs
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1.4 c. Parmesan Cheese
1 egg, slightly beaten
Combine all meatball ingredients. roll your meatballs into desired size. Place on a bar pan a bake at 375 until cooked through (about 30 min, it will depend on the size of
your meatballs).
When done remove meatballs from bar pan and place on a peper towl to drain.
In a large pot boil water then add spaghetti noodles. Follow the directions on package for time needed to cook your noodles. When noodles are desired tenderness., strain them in the sink.
Serve meatballs over noodles with your favorite spaghetti souce.
RICE CRISPY TREATS:
Ingredients:
3 table spoon butter
6 cups of marshmallows
6 cups of rice cripys
Melt Butter in large pan over low heat. Add marshmallows stir until melted and mixture is smooth
Remove from heat. Immediately add cereal mix lightly until well coated press. Firmix into lightly greased cool complete, cut into squares.
EPIC PUMPKIN PIE
1. Crust (butter sourcream cream)
2. 15 oz canned pumpkin
3. 14 oz an eurporized milk
4. 2 eggs, slightly beeten
5. 2 cups brown sugar packed
6. 1 table spoon cin
7 1/2 teaspoon groun cloves
8. 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
9. 1 teaspoon ground ginger
10. Roll the crust and freeze for 10- 15 min
combine all ingredinets and mix well
pour ingredients in to frozen pie crust
bake for 35- 45 min on 350
Allow to cool then refrigerate for 1 hour
SHEPARD'S PIE
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Peel 8 to 10 potatoes (large)
Cut potatoes into small pieces and boil in hot water and add clove of garlic
Cook 1 1/2 pounds of ground beef until brown add onions, garlic, salt, pepper, and whatever seasoning you wish
Once potatoes are soft mashed, or whip with electric mixed, add sour cream, milk butter and seasoning
Put the half of the mashed potatoes to bottom of the baking pan layer some cheese on top of the potatoes
Add the ground beef on top of the potatoes and cheese and add the rest of the mashed potatoes on top of the ground beef.
Put as much cheese as you want as the top layer and then bake in oven until cheese is melted
EASY WAFFLES
1 c. Flour
1 t. Baking powder
1/4 t. Salt
1/4 t. Baking Soda
1 C. Milk
2 t. Lemon juice or vinegar
1 Egg
2 t. Butter or margarine melted
Heat up your waffler iron. In a mixer combine butter, egg, milk and vinegar, mix well. Then mix and add baking powder, salt,
baking soda and flour. Cook on greased waffle iron.
