Teachers – Attendance Teachers can record attendance records in the SOIN Attendance page. The Attendance page can be accessed by clicking on the ‘Academics’ item on the left side menu, then click on ‘Attendance.’ Select the date and class which you would like to record the attendance from the dropdown menu. The current date is the default. Then click on the ‘Go’ button.
The Class Attendance Entry page opens. The different color-coded columns represent different attendance statuses. Present (default), Absent, Late, Signed out Dismissed and Excused are shown in this example. Schools can determine their own statuses and set up accordingly.
Click on the appropriate radio button to record the student’s attendance. SOIN provides a ‘mouse-over’ view which tells the user what column they are pointing to (this is helpful for large classes). Enter a comment. Then click ‘Save’.
You can enter a comment and apply it to all students in the class. Enter the comment in the top comment box, then check the box next to the comment and the comment will copy to all the students in the class. Click on ‘Save’ when complete.
Printing Blank Attendance Sheets Some schools opt to have teachers fill out an attendance sheet to hand in to the main office. To print blank attendance sheets for all of your classes for the date selected, from the ‘Attendance’ page, click on the ‘View/Print blank sheet for all classes’ link. A PDF document will open displaying a blank attendance sheet for each class. Click on the ‘Print’ icon to print the sheets.
To print a blank attendance sheet for a single class, on the Class Attendance Entry page, click on the ‘Print Blank Sheet’ button as shown. Click on the ‘Print’ button to print the attendance sheet. |
