Our Proposed Changes to Parks Dept Plan
Sustainable Neighborhoods on April 29 submitted a letter to the Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) requesting changes to their Long-Range Plan to better support VMU districts with open space.
Thanks to the 120 people who signed the letter in the last week of April.
The North Central Austin Candidate Forum on April 13 drew over 130 people, making it one of the largest forums of the election. Candidates were asked two questions - on how to close the open space gap for North Central Austin's mixed use districts, and what vision they have for a transit corridor like Burnet Rd in the coming years.
Allandale chose to remove an appendix from the motion listing possible mechanisms for obtaining the open space.
Highland Neighborhood Association will consider the motion in March.
(December 8) The North Shoal Creek Neighborhood Association at a meeting of the full membership December 1 voted to approve the Sustainable Neighborhoods motion in support of open space in mixed use districts like on Anderson Ln.
The full membership of the Crestview Neighborhood Association followed suit in an unanimous vote a week later.
