Theme Book: There Was an Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly
Rhyme-a-Week: Five Little Fishes
Letter: F, f
Memory Verse: God made the whole world and everything in it. Everything He made was good. |
Kuplunk Bucket: In Blueberries for Sal a little girl goes blueberry picking with her mother and each time she drops blueberries in her bucket they make the sound kuplink, kuplank, kuplunk! To reinforce listening and following directions, we have a Kuplunk bucket in our classroom. Each child has a clothespin attached to the rim of a bucket and if after being asked to do something (or not do something) either as a group or individually, they need to be told again, they will have to put their clothespin in the bucket. Many opportunities will be given to redeem themselves and get their clothespin out of the bucket. Bucket activity will help us complete the Daily Report in our MOOSE notebook.
Monday: Labor Day...No School!
Tuesday: Library. Please draw a picture of something that begins with the sound of F. We will write our own class book called, "The Old Woman That Swallowed a Fly Gets Healthy." Mrs. Geisler from the UofI Extension Office will come and talk to us about healthy foods this week. Wesley is the leader.
Wednesday: Please cut out a picture from a magazine or newspaper of something that begins with the sound of F. Maili is the leader.
Thursday: Abby is the leader. Remember to practice the names (and then the sounds) of the letters each night.
Friday: Mass. Bring sharing in a bag (something that begins with the sound of F). Peyton is the leader.
