Guided Readers: You may have noticed your child bring home a little book in their homework folder last week. This is part of our literacy centers activities we do on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. These books are repetitive and therefore predictable and will help students begin to notice high frequency words and conventions of print. I realize that the books are easily memorized, but make sure your child points to each word as it is said. This one-to-once correspondence is important in the connection process. Please read the book with your child as many times as you can tolerate or as time allows and return the next day. Another group will be anxiously waiting for the book as we rotate through the literacy centers.
Monday Draw a picture of something that begins with the sound of L.
Tuesday Tumbling with Mrs. Sara. Cut out a picture of something that begins with the sound of L. Too Many Pumpkins is written and illustrated by the same people as The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything. We will compare these too stories. We'll also compare/contrast apples and pumpkins using a Venn diagram.
Thursday Last tumbling class with Mrs. Sara (we'll have dance in the spring).
Friday 2:00 PM Dismiss. Sharing in a bag (L). Mass.
