HOMEWORK
Theme Book: The Little Red Hen/Inside a Barn in the Country

Religion Theme:  Easter
Field Trips:  Please be aware that we have several field trips planned before the end of the year: Koch's Dairy in April, Walking Tour of Mt. Sterling in May, Read in the Park Day on May 6th, Ag Day at the fairgrounds on May 8.  While help from parent volunteers is the only way these outings are possible, all parents attending these field trips MUST have had the Protecting God's Children class.  I realize that several parents who went with us to the pumpkin patch in the fall, had not taken the class.  This was a communication error and I only just recently received a current list.
Monday  No letter of the week, because be have finished the alphabet (Yeah!)  We are doing well at counting pennies and nickels together.  We'll throw dimes into the mix this week.

Tuesday  Last Magazine turn in day.  The chicks are scheduled to hatch today.  In the past they have been a little late, so we won't panic if nothing happens (yet).

Wednesday Art with Mrs. Jochem.  Make sure that you child is practicing their address at home.  This is an important safety issue and an easy way to help your child at home.

Thursday I have begun sending some AR books home with our leveled readers.  Please read these with your child several times before sending them back.  When the book is returned, students will take an AR test on that book.  We have several levels of independence in our class, so some test will be read to the students and other the students will read on their own.  It is a good way to check comprehension (and independence).  All AR test taken will be cleared from their record before they start first grade.

Friday  Mass.  Bring sharing in a bag (free choice).
