FINALLY!!
Our chick eggs will be arriving Friday, April 4th at 5pm.  That means they will be due to hatch on Grandparents' Day, which will be interesting.
 
 
HOMEWORK
Monday:  Remember to return Library books so that we can get back into the routine of checking them out.  They are always due on the following Monday.
TuesdayNow that we have been through the whole alphabet, continue to practice high frequency words and speed in knowing the names and sounds of the letters.  They are all doing terrific!

Inside a Barn in the Country

A cumulative tale written in the style of "This is the House That Jack Built."  Rhymes, repetition and clues will give the students plenty of opportunity to join in and practice their reading.
 
Some of the Illinois State Standards addressed:
1.B.Kc    Engage in shared/independent reading of familiar predictable text (as we build fluency by reading and re-reading this book).
3.B Compose well-organized and coherent writing for specific purposes and audiences (as we begin to edit our "Springtime" stories we have been working on the last two weeks).
3.C. Communicate ideas in writing to accomplish a variety of purposes (when we record some of our wonderings about our eggs we are incubating).
