Theme Book: Cat in the Hat
Religion Theme: Lent
Letter: Z, z
Rhyme-a-Week: Dr. Seuss books
We'll be reading all kinds of Dr. Seuss books this week. If your child has a special one they would like us to read, bring it in and we will return by Friday.
Monday Draw a picture of something that begins with the sound of z.
Tuesday 2:00 PM Dismiss. Today we will respond to the question at the end of this week's theme book: What would you do if your mother asked you? Cut out a picture of something that begins with the sound of Z (or just a Z).
Wednesday Ash Wednesday. Mass at 8:30 AM. Remember Mass day dress code. Find a pocket full of change at home and sort the coins. Talk about the names and values of each.
Thursday Community members will help present "Dr. Seuss Day and Agriculture." Books presented to our classroom will be Green Eggs and Ham and Hop on Pop. We look forward to the fun activities they always have planned. Have your student tell you their birthday. If they don't know it, please keep practicing at home. (No zipper day.)
Friday No Mass. Bring sharing in a bag (Z or free choice). We'll read The Cat in the Hat Comes Back and use a venn diagram to compare it with this week's theme book. If your child is still having problems naming the numbers 1-12 out of order, please keep practicing. Next week we'll begin addresses.
