100 Days of School!
The 100th day of school is rapidly approaching. Make sure you are collecting items for you 100 item collections. As you collect practice counting by 10s, 5s, and 2s. Items may be attached to a board or kept in a container. We will keep them at school all week.  CONGRATULATIONS!
Our class average for knowing the names and sounds of the letters is 94%! Congratulations on all of your hard work! We had an ice cream party to celebrate. Keep up the good work! (We saved some for Baylor and Lane when they come back!)
P is for PAJAMAS
In order to create an association for students with the sound of the letter P, we planned a Pajama Day in Kindergarten. We read some books about pancakes (If You Give a Pig a Pancake and Pancakes, Pancakes by Eric Carle), made a list of the necessary ingredients, and then cooked our own pancakes. Also, since pajamas really aren't any fun unless you can curl up and read a good book when you're wearing them, we invited guest readers. We were fortunate enough to have several visitors come and share some of their favorite books with us.
Throughout the week we read, acted out, and retold the story of The Three Pigs. When retelling the story I asked the students how we could show more than one event in a story on one piece of paper. One student suggested that we fold the paper in half and make a book, and so that is what we did. The students did a tremendous job drawing pictures that represented four main events in the story and then verbally retelling the story in their own words.

Me and My Friends
I like my friends very much. I play with my friends. I really like to go to recess. Right now we are taking a walk. My friends are really nice.

Young Anakin
Young Anakin and OBI and their friend went to Darth Vader's place. OBI Kenobi knew he wasn't going to catch up to young Anakin, so he let Darth Vader get him. Anakin and his firends escaped. Then OBI Kenobi became one of the "force ones."

Emma and me are playing tag. Emma is "it." The swingset is "base." My chest was pumping.
