summer

It is June, it is a half way through in the year of 2009.

According to the Chinese way, the summer is Yang season. It is called the period of luxurious growth and detention. The breath of heaven and earth intermingle and are beneficial to each other. Everything is in bloom and begins to bear fruit. After a night of sleep people should get up early.T hey should not weary during day time and they should not allow their mind to get angry. They should enable the best parts of the body and spirit to develop. They should do  their best to communicate with the outside world. Also they should act as though they loved everything outside.

This behavior is in harmony with the atmosphere  and it is a method of protection for one's development. Those who disobey the law of the Summer will be suffering with injury of the heart. For them the Fall will bring intermittent fever,  thus they will have little energy to support them for autumn harvest.  At winter solstice they will suffer grave disease. In Japan, June is a rainy season. It is a season for rice seeds planting. As well as for romance and weddings.

And we celebrate July 7 th instead of July 4 th in USA.

March 3rd is girls' day, May 5 th is  boys' day and July 7th is a romantic day. On July 7th Japan observes another of the seasonal events that originally came from China, way back in the 8th century. It is based on the legend of two stars --- who are supposed to have been lovers and could only meet on the seventh night of the seventh month, though on opposite banks of the River of Heaven. On this day people decorate bamboo branches with ornaments and long strips of colored papers on which they write romatic wishes. Although these days you hardly ever see households having those decorated bamboo branches outside, numerous summer festivals are celebrated throughout Japan.
