IM Remote is an AOL AIM plugin that let you share your desktop with a friend via AIM. This plugin can be extremely useful when a friend or relative needs help with their computer or when you have a work remotely with a friend or co-worker, avoiding the complexity to setup a secure VNC server. How get it?
How use it? After you install IMRemote, you'll see the option "Request remote assistance..." when you make right click in any of your buddies, or you can also use the same option in an IM window. As appear in the image:
 Then, your friend will receive an invitation, if he/she rejects it or if he/she doesn’t have the plugin installed, you will receive a message with this information. But if he/she accepts the invitation, a new window will be open.
 If you want to stop the remote assistance with your friend, just make click in the "Stop assistance" button. Meanwhile, your friend will see a window with your desktop:
 Any action that your friend perform in the window, it's going to be reflected in your desktop and vice versa. Plus, your friend can resize the remote window and he/she has the option to save a snapshot of your desktop.
Finally, you can configure the bandwidth used by IMRemote, to do this, change the plugin settings use select the menu "edit", option "settings..." and "plugins" tab as appear in the image:
