 The Ripple Effect

Sharing the Vision of our Mission...

Our focus has been to inspire local disadvantaged/at risk children to use their gifts for positive success.
We have helped families to discover, expand on and nurture their child's God-given gifts. In 2007 we added some larger and more specific issues to our mission for the Upstate youth.
This focus was brought on by the tragic loss of our Clemson Chair, Tiffany Souers in 2006.

We are being led to where great things are happening and also led to some things that need to be addressed by concerned citizens.
We work on a "Divine" time line, the SC Upstate is growing rapidly. We need intervention NOW.

Sharing Inc.'s focus is to eventually have a broader scope of learning activities and physical education available to all children in the community.
This will assist our children in being able to bloom into responsible adults and reject bad life damaging choices. By putting these things mentioned into the school system and other local entities, parents will be able to spend more "quality" time together at home in the evenings instead of rushing around to try to fill in the huge gaps in our children's lives.
Additionaly, we as parents need to be able to help mold our educational system to the youth's gifts and abilities, not our children to the system. Our society is currently stifling our youth's personal growth. The community that supports intervention through partnerships with schools, businesses and community resources can help the children whose parents or guardians are not providing positive guidance.
We cannot neglect the innocent.

Why so much attention on the schools?

Our children are required to be in school for 7-8 hrs a day. We believe that the current system is failing to address the needs of youth today.
There should not be a financial barrier for higher learning educational activities in public K5-12.
Many at disadvantaged/at risk children grow up and go out into the community ("real life") without hope, unprepared and unfocused on their goals and abilities.
Many children today grow up in unhealthy home enviornments. The must be a well of resources that they can draw from.
If we fail to help guide these children now, our society must do damage control with these children's choices later as adults.
This is all happening under the current standards of public education that limits hardworking financially struggling parents/guardians,
talented under paid teachers and community leaders such as our law enforcement.

Those who are taking responsibility for their own should not have to home educate due to unsafe, mis-focused conditions in schools we pay to exist.
We want to safely socialize and educate our children. We are made to be social creatures.
We want to help these children avoid the pain of the being driven down the wrong road by social fads or their own family enviornment.
We do care! We are willing.

If many parents and the public education system fail to provide the nurturing activities that children need to be able to make the right choices, then we as a community have to help provide these avenues.
It can be through recreation centers, YMCAs, churches and/or private activity facilities.
These are all available now. But cost, transportation and lack of a concerted effort are part of the problem.
We are working to build bridges, inspire and empower.
We want to help solve the problem of our society's children being left to their own devices through successful networking and positive prevention/intervention programs.
There MUST be a coming together of resources for the same goal...the truthful destiny of our youth!

Sharing Inc. has a dream that all children who are required to "get educated", get an education that involves Character Education in public schools, community clubs and extra curricular activities.
An education that is also custom fit for their ability, enviornment and personal or physical gifts.
This is the way to become the person you were destined to be.
Truly You!

We are all different! We all were born with a personal mission from our Creator.
We all feel it inside our own hearts. We all feel the need to be connected and working for a common goal.
Peace and happiness.
Sharing Inc. is helping guide local children at-risk to attain that goal as adults.

We pray that the new focus in this precious state will continue to be on the individual child and not the system requirements.

Isn't that what an education is supposed to do?
Prepare you for successful advancement into the community by getting you ready to use and positively expand on "what you got".

BEGIN TO EMPOWER YOUR CHILDREN TODAY ...
  • Take them to a Christian Sunday School and Church (every Sunday)
  • Pray with them. Teach them to talk to God (everyday)
  • Let them pick a local community service or charity to call their own and volunteer for it (regularly)
  • Find their talent or gift and nurture it
  • Make them go play outside at least 1-2 hrs a day
  • Limit computer, TV and video game time to no more than 1 1/2 hrs a day, Use parental locks, ALWAYS! The Ratings are WRONG.
  • Keep them in some form of music for at least ten years
  • Put them in some type of sport or physical activity (regularly)
  • Have them be your "helper" in household chores and functions daily (quality time)
  • Do not give them a cell phone until they are driving, no text message service (impersonal)
  • Take them to local flea markets, yard sales, museums or farms
  • Go camping (more than once)
  • Let them help you while grocery shopping
  • Don't buy any gifts or prizes unless it is educational in some POSITIVE way
  • Get them some old movies that includes their gifts (1940-50's era)
  • Have them help you plants flowers, trees and weed the yard (monthly)
  • LIMIT sodas and sugar sweets to one a day (read lables with them)
  • Always have a bunch of apples on your kitchen counter, peanut butter and local honey in your cabinet
  • The less "technology" they have to FILL their spare time the more time they have to read, create, talk and imagine
  • Cook dinner together from a different culture weekly (look up recipies)
  • Hug your child daily and tell them you love them (make it a habit)
  • Try natural or holistic methods before medicating for anything
  • Have them help you plant a small garden every year
  • Watch what they watch on TV and read in magazines.(You will be shocked at what businesses are trying to peddle to your children for greed.)
How hard as parents do we actually "try" for our children?

Develop a guiding, loving, empowering relationship with your kids. Don't let society do it for you.

They will and you will not like the results. Let God into your efforts. He knows their destiny.

In Peace,

Faith Clark-SI Director
