On cycle path beside A466 turn right at ‘Cycle Lane look both ways’ sign, take immediate left (Maple Avenue) and then left again under A466. At T junction turn right (s/p Mathern, Chepstow 2.5 miles), on leaving Mathern village take left opposite War Memorial (s/p ‘Unsuitable for Heavy Goods Vehicles’). At junction with A48 turn left (CARE). Tale left at r’bout  (s/p Caldicot). Follow B4245 through to Caldicot. At r'bout turn right into Caldicot Castle country park. Thro' park, past the castle to take right at junction on leaving park. Straight on at r'bout thro'  new housing estate to next r'bout where bear right (s/p Caerwent). Continue to Caerwent where left at Give Way sign to A48, where right then immediate left (s/p  Llanvair Discoed, Wentwood, Usk). Follow road to Usk. In Usk at junction with A472 turn right (eastward) and on the outskirts of Usk fork left on one way road s/p Gwehelog. Follow the road through to Raglan, turning right onto Raglan (s/p bike route 30), in Raglan take right again and then right by church (s/p Llansoy). Continue through Llansoy up Star hill to B4293 where right - Severn bridge - Tockington (58 miles)

A420 – right at cross roads (s/p Biddestone). Across A4 to Corsham. Follow sign to Town Centre. Straight on at 1st and 2^nd mini-roundabouts, and left at 3^rd mini-roundabout (s/p Melksham). Straight on at 4^th mini-roundabout (s/p Laycock). Cross A342 into Laycock. Follow one way system  (s/p Laycock Abbey) and Bowden Hill. Left at T junction across Avon and up Bowden Hill. Right A342 – left A3102 to Calne. Right A4 then left (s/p Compton Bassett), tho’ Comton Bassett follow road to left (s/p Hillmarton) to take first right, then first left to A3102. Cross A3102 (right, left dog leg) to take lane (s/p Foxham.) Follow signs (2^nd right) to Foxham and then to Christain Malford where left at T junction (B4069). Right at Kington Langley. Cross A429. Take left at cross roads to B4039. Right to Acton Turville – Tormarton – cross A46 - B4465 to Westerleigh Hill X roads (58 miles).

Thro’ Long Ashton – left at B3130 – right A38 – left B3130 – Chew Stoke – West Harptree where left (A368) and right - B3114 to Chewton Mendip. Straight across A39 down minor road thro’ to  B3114 where left. Right T junction (B3139) and then 2nd left

(B3135). First right, then first left to A37. Cross A37 (s/p Frome). At T junction right then left (s/p Chantry). Follow signs for Chantry, then Whatley, then Frome. (Ignore earlier signs for Frome.) In Frome follow signs to town centre and then to Bath (B3090). At top of hill out of Frome turn left (s/p Lullington) and then right after about 1 mile (s/p Wolverton). Left at A36 and then immediate left (B3110) – mini r’bout junction with A3062, 1 mile south of Bath (44miles)

Various routes back from Bath. The Bristol-Bath cycle route takes you to the Centre. Those from the north will head up through Landsdown Hill to Wick and Pucklechurch

Cross A368 up Harptree Hill and keep straight on (ignore s/p to Wells) down to outskirts of Wells. Cross A39 up College Rd, follow road round to the left (North Rd) and left at T junction (B3139). Take right as come to open country (s/p East Horrington) – cross A37 (s/p Frome). At T junction right then left (s/p Chantry). After further 2 miles take left at X roads (s/p Leigh upon Meddip). Follow signs for Stoke St Michael and Oakhill where right (A367) and immediate left thro’ to A37 where right and then left (B3135). At X roads take right (B3139)  – then left (B3114 s/p Chew Mendip) to A39 where right then left at Chewton Mendip –B3114 – West Harptree – left (A368) – right – B3114 – Chew where left up Pagan Hill to r’bout where left (B3130). Take the first right (Ashton Road – ignore cul-de-sac signs) to r’bout with A361 where straight on (s/p Steeple Ashton) to traffic lights at junction with A350 where  straight on. Left at T junction (s/p Semington). First right at X roads (s/p Bulkinton). After Bulkington take right at T junction (s/p Worton). First left (s/p  Poulshot) to A361 where right and immediate left (s/p  Rowde).  In Rowde left (A342) to Sandy Lane where left (s/p Laycock), down Bowden Hill. Take right at mini r’bout into centre Laycock – thro’ Laycock to lights at junction with A350. Thro’ Long Ashton. Right at B3130. Follow signs to Nailsea and then to West End. Right at T junction (8.3 miles) then first left (no s/p - 7.5 tons sign) to B3133. Left to A370 (Congresbury) where right and immediate left at traffic lights (B3133). At A38 turn right and immediate left to A368. Left along A368 then first right (B3134) – Burrington Combe. Right B3371 s/p Cheddar. In Cheddar keep to left to A371 where right then first left (Station Rd) to Wedmore where left (B3139) s/p Wells. At Wookey take second left (Vicarage Road), then right (Henley Lane) to A371 where right. Take first left (s/p Wookey Hole), then first right and left (Ash Lane) to Old Bristol Road where left to climb out of Wells. Turn off B3134 at Castle Comfort PH  thro’ to Chew where left up Pagan Hill to r’bout where left (B3130). Right at A38, left B3130 and first right  (s/p Barrow Hospital) back to Long Ashton. Down hill [CARE] to Alderley where left to Hillesley. In centre of Hillesley turn right through to Kingswood where left (B4060) to Wickwar. Continue thro’ Henton and Bleadney then first left down Tilley’s Drove. Right at second X roads (Westhay Moor Drove) thro’ to B3151 where right then first left (Totney Drove)  thro’ Westham to B3139 where right to  Wedmore where continue on B3151 to Cheddar. Up Cheddar Gorge (B3135), fork left at B3371, straight on at cross roads with B3134, right at next cross roads the first left down Harptree Hill. Cross A368  - B3114 – Chew where left up Pagan Hill to r’bout where left (B3130). Right at A38, left B3130 and first right  (s/p Barrow Hospital) back to Long Aston Chew. Long Aston (56 miles).

Take right fork (s/p Beam 1) to B4231 where right and immediate first left (s/p Parkend ). Right at T junction (s/p Parkend 1/4, Blakeney 6) and then left (B4234, Lynbrook 5). Follow B4234 over cross roads through Lynbrook to T junction where right (still B4234, s/p Kerne Bridge). Left at Kerne Bridge (B4229, s/p Goodrich) to T junction where right, over A40 and right again (A4137, s/p Hereford). After 1/2 mile take first left (s/p Ruxton, Llangrove). Follow signs (right then left) to Langrove where right at T junction. Then left at next T junction (s/p Welsh Newton 2) to A466 where left to Monmouth. Right through town centre over old bridge and left - B4293 over A40  – left fork (B4294 s/p Chepstow) - Severn Bridge – Tockington (65 miles).

Straight on at first and second X roads (s/p Hurn Farm) through to B3139, where right and second left (Vicarage Road), then right (Henley Lane) to A371 where right. Take first left (s/p Wookey Hole), then first right and left (Ash Lane) to Old Bristol Road where left to climb out of Wells. Turn off B3134 by going straight on at Castle Comfort PH  thro’ to Chew where left up Pagan Hill to r’bout where left (B3130). Right at A38, left B3130 and first right  (s/p Barrow Hospital) back to Long Ashton (65 miles).
