This year sees the return of John Thompson’s famous mile-eating weekend to meet with his Anfield clubmates. The route takes you up through the Welsh borders through scenic and quiet roads.

Overnight bags will be taken up separately so it will be possible to complete the weekend with lightweight kit. The aim will be to complete in daylight, but take lights, just in case.

Leave 7.15 am. - Monmouth - B4347- Golden Valley - B4348 -right up Dorstone Hill - Bredwardine - Letton - A438 - first right to Kinnersley (A4112) where right, then left to Almely where left by church to A4111, where right to Kington bypass (A44) - B4355 - Presteigne – Knighton (74 miles) Lunch ETA 12-30 Clock Tower Teashop, Broad Street, Knighton.
B4355 – after 8 miles right at Beguildy (s/p Anchor). After crossing river take left (s/p Anchor) and follow road up and over B4368 where left - Abermule - B4386 - B4385 - Garthmyl - A483 - B4385 - Castle Caereinion - A458 - Heniarth - B4389 - B4382 - Dolanog - Llanfihangel - B4393 - Llanfyllin (121 miles)
