My ancestor is Andrew Schmelzer; came to US in 1847, lived NY & Oh. Had 10 sons. Looking for a relative!

To
all Austria/German Schmelzers: I have been working on my Master's in
Music Education degree from The Ohio State University in Columbus,
Ohio-USA and ran across an Austian musician/composer born in 1620 named
Johann Schmelzer. The only other information that the New Grove
dictionary of Music could give was that he had 3 sons, one which
survived him to continue to write music. Does anyone know if there is a
connection to the many current "Germany" Schmelzers?

everyone!! I found this site well trying to locate some relatives of my
great-grandfather's. He was Christian Gotliebb Schmelzer and he came to
Canada from Mansfield, Germany. I am looking for anyone with
information on this branch of family. He was married to Johanne
Wilhemina Walters and they had 9 children.

To whom ist may concern: My Name is Geert Schmelzer and Im the brother of Heiko Bernd Schmelzer. (see the other entry)
I
live in the city of Cologne in the Middle of germany. Here in Cologne
you find more than 50 Schmelzer in the Telefonbook, but I don`t know
anyone of them..My
Grandfather was Erich Schmelzer and his Father was Friedrich Schmelzer.
Both were located in Saxonia in a region called Mansfelder Land, but
this was before the second world war..Maybe I find some relatives about
this page. To find
German Schmelzers *gg*, who went to america in the 19.Century, you can
use the homepage www.hamburg.de, there you can search for all
passengers, who went to New York - there are also a lot of schmelzers.. Greetings to all Schmelzers in the World

here is another german SCHMELZER. I am from Hamburg. I was kind of
hoping to find a huge family tree here. but oh well... I think we can
be all very proud to have this name. we should all meet sometimes and
talk about the name.

life in the state "Nordrhein-Westfalen", close to the city "Münster".
There are not many of our name in the near regoin, but in Germany there

Hi
Daniel! I finally found the web page that you've been talking about. As
you know there's just not 1000 hrs. in the day to 'search the web' for
everything. I am teaching General Music grades K-5 this year. It has
been very interesting. The kids at Licking Valley haven't been taught
near as well in music as we were when we were kids. What a shame. I
think Mr. Trocchia deserves a big round of 'thanks.'

their are so many schmelzer im 14, live in gahanna,ohio. all as i know
is that my great great grandma came here like in 1930's, to get out of
the holocaust. and also my family is real young so thats why she's so
