Founder Managers: Petra Ross-Macdonald is a PhD biologist who should be busy planting another 25 trees in her yard at this time of year. She is a member of the Sierra Club, Friends of Hopewell Valley Open Space and the New Jersey Shade Tree Federation, and is secretary of the Pennington Boro' Shade Tree Commission. She supports everything that DDCF is doing for environmental awareness at Duke Farms. She doesn't support the decision to dismantle the cultural legacy they are entrusted to protect, instead of using it as an example of carbon-neutral options for heating/cooling. Candida Frith-Macdonald is a much-in-demand editor of horticultural books. She was a member of the Growing Schools Garden 2007 team that won the prestigious Tudor Rose for Best in Show at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. She demonstrated her strong commitment to environmental education by growing 2000 plants for the culinary display in that garden, and by attempting to dye her children blue with woad (it worked on the fabric, not on their skin). She would like the one-of-a-kind Doris Duke Display Gardens to still exist when she visits New Jersey this summer. If you can provide help or content, please contact us |
