***Since we are studying regions of the United States this year in Social Studies, students are going to have to learn the names of each state in each region.  I am giving my students until the holiday break in December to be able to identify each state and capital.  I know that this is a challenge for many students, but I will also allow students to name each state and capital as we study each region.  We are beginning with the Northeast region next week, and I will send home a map for students to start practicing.   I will allow students to take their tests in multiple parts, or all at once.  The curriculum requires students to know these facts and I know it can be overwhelming to a fourth grader.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
