Document Camera/Video Presenter

A document camera is basically a small camera mounted on a stand which is hooked up to a TV monitor.  Then, a presenter is able to place objects or documents under the camera and project it's image onto a TV monitor for the students to see.  It functions somewhat like a overhead projector.  However, a document camera/video presenter offers enormous advantages
over an overhead projector. For example, let's say our experiment deals with measuring liquids in a measuring cup. All I would do is tilt the camera so that it points at the side of the cup.  Now all of the students can easily read the measurement and more clearly understand how to determine an accurate measurement.

The Video Presenter can also be an efficient tool to:
  • Zoom into specific details of insects, rocks etc.
  • Display the scientific method
  • Share science books, and articles from Time for Kids
The ability to display documents, 3-D objects, microscopic images and more through virtually  any multimedia projector, monitor or TV greatly enhances the visual learning today's students best respond to.
