Welcome to the site for Mr. Ernest, sixth grade teacher, Heritage (week 10, Nov. 9 - Nov. 13)

Thank you for visiting my web site. The purpose of this site is to provide updated information to students and parents about the work and events that are occurring in my classroom. It is my hope that by using this site, both students and parents will have a better understanding of the work that is being assigned and when assignments are due. To the right, I've listed all long term assignments that are currently in progress as well as any tests that will be given during the week. I've also listed  upcoming events and important future dates and reminders. However, please click  on "important reminders" to view additional notes of interest including a yearly school calendar. To view the weekly schedule, click on the attachment for this week found at the bottom of this page.  The schedule will be available for viewing by Sunday afternoon. I do request that all students print the schedule and place it in their binder by Monday morning in order to have a better understanding of the assignments for the coming week. I've also listed a few procedural reminders below for your convenience. As always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns do not hesitate to contact me.

  • If you need homework assignments because of a student absence, please call and leave a voice message by 9:00. This will give me time during my planning period to collect materials and take them to the office. If you call later than this, I may not have the time to honor your request. Do not send an e-mail to make this type of request.
  • If there is an important message that needs to be given to your child, please contact the office - do not leave a voice message or an e-mail.
  • If you are coming early to pick up your child, you must check in at the office and sign him/her out. I cannot send a student to the office until I am contacted by one of the office staff.
  • If you are visiting the building for any reason during the school day, you must check in at the office and receive a visitor's pass.
  • If you are planning on volunteering for any school function, you must fill out a district volunteer form. You may obtain one in the office, or let me know, and I'll send one home.
  • My voice mail number is 944-8970 (3625)
  • My e-mail is ernestr@saline.k12.mi.us
