The study
of the Western Hemisphere (Latin America and Canada) comprises the social
studies program for the year. It
is the social studies area that many of the skills learned in reading and
language are put to practical use.
A variety of reports and projects will be ongoing throughout the year;
each designed to use a new skill to present material. Maps, charts, graphs, timelines and conventional reports
will be used. We will culminate
our Canada studies with our exciting educational field trip to Toronto, Canada.
