Tuesday, November 27, 2018

Brian has two bags of coins, and each contain 6 coins. One bag contains six standard coins each weighing exactly one ounce. The other bag contains 4 standard coins along with one coin that is one-hundredth of an ounce too heavy and another that is one hundredth of an ounce too light. The weight of all six coins in each bag is six ounces. How can Brian determine which bag contains the non-standard coins by using only two weighings on a simple balance scale?
