Problem of the Week

Tuesday, November 22, 2016

Three pies will be served for dessert this Thanksgiving: an apple pie, a blueberry pie, and a pecan pie. The number of blueberries in the blueberry pie is 15 times the number of apples in the apple pie, and the number of blueberries is 35 more than the number of pecans in the pecan pie. If the total number of fruits, berries, and nuts that have gone into the making of these pies is 244, how many apples, how many blueberries, and how many pecans have gone into the making of the three pies? Also please explain why there is no pumpkin pie.
