Dear Parents,

I hope everyone has had a chance to enjoy the wonderful weather that we have had this past week.  With the return of the nice weather, we have begun having our morning snack/recess outside.  Some students were using this time to get homework assignments done so that they didn’t have to take them home.  Now that we are outside again, it is less likely that those students will use that time to do homework.  Please check with your child to see if he or she has completed their assignments.  I am in the process of creating a link on the school’s website so that you can check the week’s assignments online.  You will also be able to view the weekly newsletter.  This link should be set up by the middle of next week.  Unless it is a short week, your child will have reading and/or spelling homework every night.

In class this week, the students have finished their reports on the regions of the United States.  They did a nice job.  We have begun reading more in depth about the Northeast region.  We have learned about the Northeast coastline and the Northeast mountains.  Ask your child about the waterfalls that are a natural wonder and about the oldest mountain range in North America.

Have a nice weekend!

 Mrs. Maxham
